Ndombele has 'let himself down' after huge update on Tottenham future - pundit
Noel Whelan has claimed Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has “let himself down after telling Spurs he wants to leave this month.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Leeds striker blasted the 24-year-old club-record signing for failing to demonstrate the work ethic that matched his technical ability.
As revealed by Football Insider on Thursday (August 19th), Ndombele has told Tottenham chiefs he wants to quit the club by the end of the transfer window.
The summer window closes at the end of August.
A Spurs source told Football Insider the midfielder made clear he wanted out earlier this summer.
It is understood that is the reason behind his exclusion under Nuno Espirito Santo.

Whelan claimed Ndombele had proven he has the ability to be Spurs’ Paul Pogba.
However, he insisted the midfielder had let himself down with his inconsistent displays.
Asked what he made of Ndombele’s situation, Whelan told Football Insider’s Rssell Edge: “Frustration. I think that’s the word because the fans at Tottenham know what he could be like as a player.
“Very much like a Pogba at times, on his day, like we saw against Leeds United, Pogba was integral to everything good that they did.
“He could be the same but it’s that consistency. It’s that willingness to go out there and perform, run yourself into the ground and still give quality that everyone knows he possesses.
“That’s why Tottenham went out and spent so much money on him. I think he’s let himself down because no one’s ever seen the best of him.”
Ndombele became Spurs’ record signing in 2019 after joining from Olympique Lyonnais for an initial £54million.
He is the latest White Hart Lane superstar to tell the club he wants to leave after Harry Kane.
