Neil Lennon rages in instant reaction to Rangers win against Hibernian
Neil Lennon was left raging after his Hibernian side lost 2-1 to Rangers on Wednesday night.
The Hibs boss felt that his side should have been awarded a penalty in the second-half at Easter Road when the ball appeared to have made contact with David Bates’ arm in the Gers box.
However the referee waved away the Hibs appeals as the Light Blues went on to victory thanks to goals from Josh Windass and Alfredo Morelos.
Former Celtic player and manager Lennon was left seething in his post-match interview, where he blasted the decision to not give his side a penalty that could have seen them equalise.
“The referee didn’t give a penalty when he should have done. It’s a blatant handball,” he said instantly after full-time in Sky Sports Main Event’s post-match coverage on Wednesday night.
“You can tell by the reaction of the [Rangers] players, they know its a penalty,” he added.

“It’s the clearest penalty as you can see so its difficult to put into words.”
Lewis Stevensen put Hibernian into an early lead after his shot was deflected in off Bruno Alves in the ninth minute.
However the Light Blues responded brilliantly before half time with stunning efforts through Windass and Morelos.
Celtic’s 3-1 win against Hamilton means that Graeme Murty’s side are still five points behind the Premiership leaders in the standings, but they are now six points ahead of fourth placed Hibs.
Next up for the Light Blues is a clash against Tommy Wright’s St Johnstone on Saturday at Ibrox.
