Newcastle 26-27 home shirt leaks, and fans call it the ‘worst kit ever’
Newcastle United fans have already begun to show their displeasure at their home shirt for next season, after it was leaked on Sunday.
The Magpies are once again working in co-operation with Adidas for their 2026-27 designs, after they penned a five-year deal with the German sports clothing giants back in 2024.
It has been a frustrating few months for the Geordies, who saw their Champions League hopes crushed by Barcelona and have since watched their chances of qualifying for next year’s edition fade away.
Many in the fanbase feel that Eddie Howe’s side have taken steps backwards across the campaign, after they finally ended their 70-year trophy drought with Carabao Cup glory last term.
Newcastle are set to face Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon in their latest Premier League encounter, but it is matters away from the pitch that have got fans’ backs up ahead of the game.

Images have been circulating of Newcastle’s new home shirt on social media, with the striking design already catching the eye of several supporters.
The shirt is set to feature a central black stripe, accompanied by several thinner stripes stretching out towards the sides of the shirt, while the Adidas three-stripe branding features in a bold turquoise across the shoulders.
The reveal of next season’s shirts is normally a huge moment of excitement for supporters, but the mood is already drastically different among Newcastle fans after the leaks emerged.
Fans took to X to share their anger over the potential design, with several already labelling it as “the worst shirt we’ve ever had.”
One supporter even went as far as to suggest that the “whole thing is a mess,” while another branded the strip as “hideous.”
- @St164548: “That’s awful, how can you get black and white stripes so wrong?”
- @eap101: “When it rains, it pours. Awful kit. Awful season. Fan morale low.”
- @HelloBenWhite: “That is not real. I refuse to believe it.”
PIF must address ownership uncertainty
Former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness told Football Insider earlier this week that PIF have got to do more at Newcastle if they want to truly achieve their ambitions of becoming a top club.
The Scottish businessman made it clear that the owners need to support the executive team by providing quicker and more influential decisions.
Fans’ frustrations have begun to set in with the owners after a season of stagnation on the pitch, and Wyness believes they currently lack the resources to take the squad to the next level.
He feels that they need to use more of their other investments to help bring further sponsorship money into the club’s coffers, rather than continuing to operate as they are.
The expectations of Newcastle fans have been altered dramatically ever since PIF bought the club, and Wyness feels that they are now at a pivotal point in their ownership.
