Newcastle United are close to securing two forward signings following a breakthrough in talks, sources have told Football Insider.

The north-east giants have agreed a deal to sign Sheffield United forward William Osula, with a medical imminent.

A £15million bid has been accepted by the Championship club, and personal terms have been agreed upon as he prepares to move to St James’ Park.

Osula is versatile and can play down the middle or out wide, providing Eddie Howe with several options.

The 20-year-old made 21 appearances in the Premier League last season as Sheffield United were unable to avoid relegation.

Football Insider also revealed that talks over a deal with Chelsea for Noni Madueke have been held.

Although that signing has not been agreed yet, sources claim that the deal between the Premier League rivals is still alive.

The 22-year-old is open to joining Newcastle as they push to sign a new right-winger before the transfer deadline.

Newcastle United’s new signings could open the door for Miguel Almiron’s exit

With two new players expected to arrive at St James’ Park soon, Miguel Almiron is believed to be heading for the exit door.

Football Insider reported that the 30-year-old has been in advanced talks with an unnamed Saudi Pro League club this summer.

All parties are expect him to move on before the transfer window closes as he has been offered a “huge” deal that will see him gain a significant pay rise.

The Magpies will also be focusing on trying to keep hold of Anthony Gordon amid interest from Liverpool.

The Premier League giants are continuing to push for the England international, and Football Insider revealed Gordon could go on strike to make a deal happen.
