Newcastle United fans are convinced Anthony Gordon's head has been turned after his performance in the 1-0 win v Southampton.

Eddie Howe's side fought to a 1-0 win despite losing a man when Fabian Schar was sent off, but fans could not help but notice Gordon's display.

The winger looked tired and lazy throughout, failing to make an impact on the game, and fans now think he could look to leave the club before 31 August.

He has been linked with a big-money move to Liverpool throughout the summer transfer window amid suggestions he wishes to join his boyhood club.

Now, the fans are convinced he is set on making the move.

Anthony Gordon could push for Liverpool move after what fans saw in Newcastle v Southampton

Newcastle have remained determined to keep hold of their star winger all summer despite the high level of interest thanks to his impressive displays last season.

Gordon scored 12 goals and picked up 11 assists in all competitions last time out and won the club's Player of the Season award.

However, fans are now convinced he wants to leave before 31 August and have taken to social media as they labelled his display "lethargic" and "awful".
