'Get in', 'Waiting on Xisco' - Newcastle fans rave over senior outcast after major milestone
Newcastle United fans have taken to social media to rave over the performance of outcast striker Aleksandar Mitrovic after he scored his very first goal for loan side Fulham.
The Serbian hitman was shipped out to the London-based side in a deadline day move at the end of the January transfer window, but despite appearing in the last three matches, he had not managed to find the back of the net.
However, he finally got off the mark on Wednesday night, netting the opener with a goal poked home from close range in a 1-1 draw away at Bristol City.

Newcastle fans, of who Mitrovic is a firm favourite despite having been cast out of the first team squad at St James’ Park, were quick to turn to Twitter to congratulate the Serbian on his major milestone during his time at Craven Cottage, with some suggesting he still had a role to play on Tyneside.
Here, Football Insider has rounded up a selection of the supporters’ best tweets:

Mitrovic scores, Ferreyra scores……. we're just waiting on Xisco and Riviere.

Good on Mitrovic.
Gone to get some game time and hopefully come back a better player with a better attitude.
Might not be our main goal scorer next season but might come in handy.

Impossible to dislike Mitrović, even if he's not the player we all expected/hoped he'd be.

Don’t know what the cool or clever opinion is these days but I still love Mitrovic, I don’t really know if he’s good or not but I don’t care

The 23-year-old, who arrived in the north east back in 2015, has made a total of 72 appearances for the Magpies across all competitions, managing to net just 17 goals and chip in with 10 assists.
This season saw him manage to turn out just seven times, six of those coming in the league, scoring twice, before being offloaded temporarily by Rafael Benitez.
In other Newcastle United news, the club are set to make an eight-figure bid to secure an international flyer in the summer.
