'Gods are smiling', 'Literally perfect' - Newcastle fans rave over mammoth Arsenal reveal

Newcastle United fans have been left delighted after seeing Arsenal drawn with a mammoth trip away to Russian outfit CSKA Moscow in the Europa League just days before the Gunners travel to Tyneside in the Premier League.

The north London side managed to reach the quarter finals of Europe’s secondary cup competition with an impressive 5-1 aggregate win over Italian giants AC Milan, securing a 3-1 victory at the Emirates Stadium in the second leg on Thursday.

Their progression saw them take part in Friday’s draw, and were drawn out first, meaning they will play their first leg at home, before seeing CSKA, who beat Lyon 3-2 over two ties in the round of 16, drawn as their opposition.

Arsenal’s home leg sees them play host to the reigning on the 5th April, with the away leg taking place a week later in the Russian capital, in what will be approximately a 3,500 mile round trip for the Gunners squad.

However, it means that Arsene Wenger and his men will embark on their mammoth European adventure just three days before they travel to St James’ Park for their top flight clash, and the Toon Army were left raving on Twitter to see Arsenal handed what could be a decisive disadvantage for the match.
