Newcastle United fans took to Twitter to ridicule the idea that they would sign David Luiz on loan this season.
Luiz has made 13 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea this season, but is currently sidelined with a knee injury.
However, it is understood that the defender has fallen out with manager Antonio Conte and that his first-team action will be limited when he returns.
While the star maybe out-of-favour, it wasn’t enough to convince Newcastle United fans that they would soon see him at St James’ Park.
One fan jokingly revealed they would sell magic beans to any one who believed the report, with another fan saying the news shows that it’s panto season.
Here are the best reactions from unconvinced Newcastle fans:
Can't get Kennedy or Abraham on loan but confident we can get David Luiz. Piece of cake pal. #nufc

We will not/can’t get David Luiz. But if he does come, watch his red cards go through the roof. #NUFC

The David Luiz link is the daftest of the season yet. Even if Staveley & co. came in, it would still be utter madness. #nufc

The Magpies haven’t won any of their last nine league games, slumping to heavy defeats against Watford and Manchester United in the process.
The poor form has left Newcastle United 18th in the league, one point adrift of safety.
The Magpies are next in action on Saturday when they play West Ham at the London Stadium.
In other Newcastle United news, the Magpies are second favourites to seal a January swoop for this lightning quick Premier League forward.
