Newcastle United fans have been left raging at Eddie Howe after reports claimed he now wants to keep Callum Wilson at the club this summer.

Howe has previously remained loyal to his players, but it has been suggested that he must be more ruthless in the transfer market to help the club move forward.

The 32-year-old featured 26 times last season, scoring ten goals, but his injuries were a constant source of frustration as he missed a total of 28 games.

Given Wilson's age and consistent struggles with injuries, fans have suggested this may be their final opportunity to cash in on his signature.

Howe is in favour of keeping the striker at St James' Park for another year despite his issues, which fans believe could lead to further struggles next season.
