Newcastle ready move for Manchester United outcast after decision made - report
By Matt Farr
Newcastle may look to push through a deal to sign Manchester United defender Luke Shaw this summer, according to a report.
The Daily Star report that the 21-year-old full back has made the decision to quit Old Trafford at the end of the season in a bid to revive his career.
Shaw has fallen out of favour at Manchester United following his £30million move from Southampton and 2014, and has made just 29 Premier League appearances for the club.
The England international is believed to be on the radar of Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez, who is considering moves for a host of proven Premier League performers ahead of his side’s potential return to the top flight.
It is understood that the Magpies will be among a host of clubs set to battle it out for his signature, following the reported decision on his future.

Stoke and Crystal Palace are believed to be readying bids worth just £15million for the defender’s services, but United could be looking for a lot more.
Shaw has just 14 months left to run on his current deal with Manchester United, and has been plagued by injuries throughout his career at Old Trafford.
After appearing in each of United’s first five Premier League matches of the season, Shaw has played just 161 minutes of league football since.
Football Insider verdict
His ongoing injury concerns have made for a very frustrating time with Manchester United, and Shaw was expected to quit the club this summer even before his reported revelation. But Newcastle would be able to offer him regular first team football, under a manager that could have a fantastic influence on his future development. However, any Newcastle move for Shaw does hinge on their promotion to the Premier League; which looks set in stone at the moment. The finances could also be an issue, with United likely to want to recoup what they paid for him three years’ ago. They could be priced out by other Premier League sides, while Benitez’ struggles to acquire the necessary funds for his top targets during the January window could continue into the summer.
In other Newcastle transfer news, the club’s pursuit of defender Nikola Milenkovic has reached its’ climax.
