Newcastle hoping to land duo from two PL giants before transfer deadline - reliable journalist

By Harvey Byrne

Newcastle are hoping to land Chelsea and Liverpool duo Kenedy and Divock Origi on loan before Thursday’s transfer deadline, according to a reliable journalist.

Chronicle chief sports writer Lee Ryder has claimed via his personal Twitter account on Tuesday afternoon that with just over 48 hours left of the summer window the Magpies still have their eyes on the two players from the Premier League giants.

However, it is also said that they deals could be determined on whether Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain moves to Stamford Bridge from Arsenal and whether Rafa Benitez’ side can guarantee a place for Origi in their side “every week.”

Kenedy, 21, has made three appearances on the bench for Chelsea without making it onto the pitch with the left-backs last appearance for the Blues coming back in May against Watford after the Premier League title was sealed.

Meanwhile, Origi, 22, made a nine-minute substitute appearance in the season opening 3-3 draw against Watford for Liverpool, but in the most recent clash against Arsenal the striker wasn’t even included in the match squad.

Football Insider verdict:

Kenedy and Origi have shown signs of talent in their so far short professional careers and that is what saw them earn moves to both Chelsea and Liverpool in the first place. However, there is no guarantees that either will be a success at Newcastle. Kenedy himself has seen very little game time at Chelsea and has previously failed on a loan move to Watford. However, Origi has shown himself to be capable at both international and Premier League level and while Newcastle are looking for a pacey striker who can also finish the 23-time capped Belgium international could be their man.

In other Newcastle transfer news, the Magpies have made a late approach for this 42-time international from a Serie A club.
