Newcastle must seal summer swoop for PL centre-forward after reported mass exodus development
Newcastle United still need to find themselves one or two new centre-forwards in the summer and they have a perfect chance to revive their interest from last year in West Brom forward Jay Rodriguez.
However with the Baggies now looking increasingly likely to be relegated this season, the Magpies may be able to finally beat Albion in the race to sign a striker after also missing out on Daniel Sturridge to them.
The Sun has reported that West Brom are bracing themselves for a potential mass exodus in the summer and one-time England international Rodriguez could be on the list of players to leave the rock-bottom club.
Stoke are said to be fans of the former Southampton and Burnley centre-forward, but their survival is not exactly guaranteed either.

Dwight Gayle and Joselu have not been consistent enough this season and Islam Slimani does not appear to be a long-term solution at St James’ Park.
Rodriguez, in a team that lacks any real sort of creative midfielder, has scored eight goals in 33 appearances in all competitions for West Brom and was tipped for a call-up to the England international team for the World Cup by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.
Rafa Benitez will be able to work wonders with the 28-year-old striker, who has shown that the worst of his injury issues are behind him and that he is ready to play in a team with more gifted playmakers like Newcastle.
