Newcastle United fans fear Lewis Hall transfer request after England World Cup squad decision

Newcastle United fans believe that Lewis Hall may hand in a transfer request after reports emerged that he will be left out of England’s World Cup squad.

Thomas Tuchel is expected to announce the team on Friday, with numerous big stars expected to be left out, including Phil Foden, Cole Palmer and Harry Maguire.

However, the exclusion of Hall is perhaps one of the most surprising omissions, with the youngster establishing himself as one of the most promising left-backs in the Premier League.

The 21-year-old had been a pivotal player for most of the campaign, but Howe had opted to drop in for a few games earlier in late April and early May.

Now, many fans believe that this could push Hall to depart Newcastle, with it likely to have contributed to his exclusion from the England squad.

Newcastle United fans blame Eddie Howe for Lewis Hall England snub

Despite Hall being a mainstay at left-back for Newcastle all season, Howe made the decision to drop him against Arsenal.

This came after Hall was taken off at half-time against Bournemouth, with the 21-year-old not returning to the starting lineup until the 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest.

As a result, with the defender now set to be left out of the England squad, many supporters believe Howe is at fault for “throwing him under the bus”.

Therefore, there are fears that he could now request to leave the Magpies in the summer in hopes of getting his England career back on track.

Will Newcastle let Hall leave this summer?

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown exclusively told Football Insider that Newcastle will not entertain any offers for Hall this summer.

The full-back has attracted interest from Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea, but is not currently expected to leave St James’ Park.

This is despite the Magpies being set to miss out on European football after a terrible run of form towards the end of the campaign.

It is expected to be a busy summer at Newcastle, with multiple stars linked away from the club ahead of the summer transfer window.

However, it remains to be seen if Hall will push for a move away, especially after his recent England snub by Thomas Tuchel.
