Newcastle have 'big problem' amid Emenalo talks update - Kenny
Michael Emenalo can help Newcastle United overcome a “big problem” if Premier League clubs refuse to trade with them in January.
So says ex-Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Magpies’ director of football elect.
This site revealed on 9 November that Newcastle’s owners are set to appoint the ex-Nigeria international to work alongside new manager Eddie Howe.
Football Insider also broke news two days later that Newcastle are laying the groundwork for three big-money January signings.
The Telegraph reported on 10 November that some Premier League clubs want to see Newcastle relegated and will refuse to sell to them in January.
Emenalo is an experienced operator and spent seven years at Chelsea before a two-year stint with Monaco between 2017 and 2019.

Kenny claims Emenalo’s European experience could allow Newcastle to bypass the Premier League clubs’ embargo plot.
“I think this is the right sort of appointment, it could be massive,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“He’s got loads of experience at Monaco and Chelsea and he’ll be able to take them in the right direction.
“They’ve got all this money but they need some quality now. The club has been stalling for years under Mike Ashley.
“So to bring someone like this in is a good move. He knows the European market and that will probably be massive for Newcastle.
“I think they might have to go out there to sign players because I don’t think many in the Premier League will sell to them.
“That could be a big problem for them if they don’t get someone in who can show them what to do in the European market.”
