Newcastle United: Will Osula sale can’t be ruled out despite West Ham heroics
Newcastle United should not rule out selling Will Osula this summer as they stand a chance to make a huge profit on his services while his stock is higher than ever before.
Osula scored his maiden Premier League brace in Newcastle’s 3-1 win against West Ham on Sunday.
The Danish striker has been forced to bide his time for regular minutes under Eddie Howe, but is emerging as his first choice centre-forward as the season concludes.
Newcastle could have sold Osula last summer, and he has continued to be linked with a big-money move away ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
Despite his strong recent form making it seem like an exit is off the cards for this summer, Newcastle should still sell Osula if they receive a sizeable offer for his services.

Osula was close to joining Eintracht Frankfurt last summer, after a deal was agreed on Deadline Day but PIF pulled the plug on the move.
He made just one Premier League start before April behind the likes of Nick Woltemade, Yoane Wissa and Anthony Gordon, but has now been in the starting eleven for six successive top flight matches.

He has certainly repaid Howe’s faith, with five goals in those six outings, and the Daily Mail have recently reported that the likes of Aston Villa, Everton, Crystal Palace, Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen are interested in him ahead of the summer.
The same report states that Newcastle want to keep the 22-year-old, while sources have revealed to Football Insider that Osula is happy to stay on Tyneside after his recent run in the side.
Despite his strong form, Newcastle should not shut down all offers for Osula this summer, especially since he has only shown real promise over the last six weeks and is very clearly over-performing, with seven league goals from 4.29 xG so far this season.
They paid £10million to sign him from Sheffield United two years ago, and reports have stated that he could be sold for around £40m this summer.
Such a fee would represent a sizeable pure profit margin for the club to bank, which could be vital considering their likely lack of European football for next season.
Not only that, but they are pretty unlikely to make any kind of profit on the £65m spent on Woltemade or the £50m paid for Wissa last summer.
Selling Osula should not be high up their list of priorities, but if one of those aforementioned clubs comes in with a massive bid to sign him this summer, Newcastle must not stand in the way of his departure.
What has Howe said about Osula’s future at Newcastle?
Howe is clearly a keen admirer of Osula’s talents and currently owes him his job security after Newcastle’s upturn in form was orchestrated by his run in the side up front.
The Magpies boss was asked about his future at St James’ beyond the summer after the West Ham win, and he hinted at a stay at the club and a stay in his starting eleven long-term.
He said: “I don’t think he could have done any more (to be their first-choice striker). When you look at what he’s done in the goal return, he’s given us not just the goal return, but work ethic and attitude.
“Being a number nine for Newcastle is incredibly difficult. There’s a lot of responsibility in that position. Of course, Newcastle have had some iconic number nines over the years.
“I think it’s a great thing for a player to take on, but the responsibility is the big thing. He needs to continue to develop his game to do that over a longer period of time. Certainly, he’s probably put himself in a good position to do it.”
