Newcastle United fans are turning against manager Eddie Howe following their 14th Premier League defeat of the season.

The Magpies dropped to 14th in the Premier League table after a 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace, despite going ahead in the first half through a Will Osula strike.

Striker Jean-Philippe Mateta scored two late goals, including a 94th minute penalty, to turn the game around for Crystal Palace and heap further pressure on Howe.

Howe has faced increasing scrutiny from the Newcastle fanbase in recent months due to underwhelming results and performances.

Newcastle have lost three consecutive games in all competitions, and the fixture list does not get any easier as Howe faces his old club Bournemouth before they travel to league leaders Arsenal.

Newcastle owners need to step up amid Eddie Howe's uncertain future

Former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness told Football Insider that Newcastle's ownership need to show stronger leadership on issues like Howe's future.

Chief executive David Hopkinson revealed during the international break that he had no stance on whether Howe should remain in charge.
