Newcastle are set to be priced out of a move for Tijjani Reijnders by Man City this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Reijnders struggled for regular game time in his first campaign at Man City following a £46million move from AC Milan.

Pep Guardiola's departure has left him with a better chance of increased minutes next season under Enzo Maresca.

Bernardo Silva has also left the club, while uncertainty looms around Rodri's future, and so the Italian boss is keen to keep Reijnders around.

Newcastle have previously been linked, but City are set to demand a huge fee for his services this summer, as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast,

Eddie Howe could prioritise other midfield targets as he focuses on adding more quality following Sandro Tonali's departure.

Man City keen to price Newcastle out of Tijjani Reijnders approach

Reijnders registered 14 goal contributions in 50 appearances for City last term, but only started in three of their final 12 games of the campaign.

He recently impressed at the World Cup with the Netherlands, and the likes of Juventus and Galatasaray have also been linked to his services this summer.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "Man City are looking to strengthen in midfield, rather than weaken it right now as well, and a big money offer would have to come in to make them consider cashing in on Reijnders.

"So yeah, I don't think he'd be right at the top of the list of Newcastle reinforcements right now."

Newcastle will accept £80m offer from Arsenal for Bruno Guimaraes

With Tonali having already left, Newcastle remain fearful that club captain and fellow star midfielder Guimaraes could also depart this summer.

The Gunners have reportedly seen an opening £55m bid for his services rejected by the Magpies as they stand firm against an exit.

They are weighing up whether to return to the table, with sources revealing to Football Insider that Newcastle want £80m for Guimaraes to agree to part ways.

Keith Wyness has told Football Insider that Guimaraes wants to force a move to Arsenal this summer, while he is keen to relocate his family to London.
