Sean Neave's impressive first start for Wolves at Everton shows that he has the talent to be a huge asset to Newcastle in the future.

Cesar Peixoto handed a first professional start to 19-year-old Newcastle loanee Neave as he rotated his side from their previous league outings.

Sean Neave was a bright spark as Wolves lost to Everton

Neave progressed through the Magpies' academy to make his professional debut in a Champions League clash against Qarabag in February, going to feature in the Premier League in May too.

He was in the pre-season plans of both Eddie Howe and Matthias Jaissle during the summer, but the latter saw fit to loan him out last month.

Sources told Football Insider on Deadline Day that Neave was undergoing a medical at Wolves, and he subsequently joined the Championship club in search of a breakthrough at senior level.

He had to wait until Wednesday night to make his first start for the club, and Old Gold supporters were certainly impressed with what they saw.

Neave was the only starting attacker to create a chance for Wolves and none of his teammates completed more dribbles (2) than him across 90 minutes.

The 19-year-old was playing out of position on the right flank, rather than up front, and his tenacity was highlighted as he made three recoveries, three clearances and won five of his six ground duels.

Neave also won two fouls, with his performance highlighting just what kind of talent Newcastle could have on their hands for the future.

Newcastle fans should certainly be excited about Neave's future at the club as Wolves supporters lavish praise on his performance at Everton.
