Goncalo Ramos has been recently linked with a move to Newcastle United ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Magpies are in desperate need of a new striker after the failings of Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa.

As a result, the club failed to replace Alexander Isak’s goals, which has resulted in a terrible 2025-26 campaign.

PSG star Ramos has been a proposed solution, but it could require a big fee to get his services.

Nevertheless, there are plenty of stats that suggest that Newcastle should seal the signing of Ramos.

Goncalo Ramos has some excellent stats at PSG

While Ramos has struggled for game time at the Ligue 1 giants this season, this has not stopped him from making the most of his chances.

According to Fotmob on 11 May, he is averaging 0.44 goals, a 0.66 xG, 4.18 shots, 0.07 assists, a 0.10 xA and 1.25 successful dribbles per 90 minutes.

On top of this, Ramos has proved himself to be a big-game player.

Important late goals have come against Marseille, Nice, Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur, with the latter being the equaliser in the UEFA Super Cup, with PSG going on to win on penalties.

This is a trait Newcastle are desperate for, and should not be afraid to splash the cash to bring him in.

If they can bring him in, he will surely solve their ongoing attacking issues and finally bring goals back to their front line, something that they have been desperately missing in recent months.

How much would Ramos cost Newcastle?

Football Insider has exclusively revealed that PSG will only let Ramos go for a sizable fee in the summer.

His contract until 2028 at the capital club means that the French side can demand big money for the Portugal international.

Newcastle currently have the attacker on their shortlist ahead of the summer transfer window.

With the 2026 World Cup now a month away, his performances at the tournament are likely to affect his price tag even more, especially if he does well and Portugal goes far.

However, it remains to be seen if Newcastle are able to get the deal over the line, or if they simply move onto other targets this summer.
