Newcastle United must look to bring Wolverhampton Wanderers star Hugo Bueno to St James' Park this summer.

The Magpies have been hunting for a left-back this summer, and have recently been linked to Joaquin Seys.

However, Newcastle should instead look to make an official move to Bueno this summer.

Football Insider has previously claimed that Newcastle had interest in Bueno back in February.

Now, the Magpies have a perfect chance to make a move as Wolves prepare for life in the Championship.

The 23-year-old was one of the Old Gold side’s best players last season despite their relegation to the second tier.

Newcastle could have potential bargain on their hands with Hugo Bueno

Since Wolves dipped into the second tier, they have not sold many of their stars, despite the transfer window ending in just over a month.

However, reports are now beginning to emerge of potential sales, with Joao Gomes set to move to Aston Villa for £38million.

This is an eye-catching price tag, with many believing that the Brazil international should have gone for more.

Therefore, Wolves may be prepared to sell Bueno for a low price as well, which could help Newcastle secure a bargain.

This is especially true considering the Old Gold already have David Moller Wolfe at left-back, meaning they already have a ready-made replacement if Bueno is sold.

As a result, with Newcastle struggling in the transfer window as it stands, signing the Wolves ace seems like it could be an easy win for the club ahead of the new season.

How good is Bueno?

Despite Wolves finishing bottom of the Premier League last season, Bueno still managed to produce some decent stats in the top-flight.

According to Fotmob on 18 July, he averaged, 0.08 assists, a 0.13 xA, 1.45 chances created, 2.21 successful crosses, 1.18 successful dribbles, 2.55 tackles and 1.45 interceptions per 90 minutes in the Premier League.

Therefore, there is little doubt that Bueno could be a solid backup to Hall ahead of the new season and do a good job when needed.

Hopefully, the Magpies will soon make a move for Bueno before another club swoops in to secure what seems to be a bargain buy this summer transfer window.
