Instead, the striker struggled once again, with Barnes having to be the hosts’ saviour to ensure they knocked out the Championship side.

According to Fotmob on 27 August, Woltemade only produced a 0.05 xG, created one chance, had only one shot which was off target, had five touches in the opposition box and completed one successful dribble.

As a result, it was once again clear that the attacker is simply not good enough to provide a consistent threat, with Woltemade not even managing a shot on target against a Championship side.

Therefore, if there is a chance to sell the Germany international before the summer transfer window ends, Newcastle should take it.

Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Newcastle will allow Joe Willock to depart if they can secure a replacement.

Besiktas are making a "big push" to sign the 27-year-old, who is out of contract at St James' Park in June 2027.

The Magpies do not want to let the midfielder leave on a free next summer and are actively looking for Willock’s replacement, which will allow him to leave.
