Victor Munoz's rapid rags-to-riches story as Newcastle United submit bid
Victor Munoz has appeared on the radar at St James' Park, as Newcastle United attempt to replace Anthony Gordon.
The Magpies have cashed in on their star winger for upwards of £70million, and supporters are expecting the club to reinvest that money straight back into the market.
Harvey Barnes and Anthony Elanga are also being linked with moves from the North East, putting Eddie Howe under even more pressure from a frustrated fanbase.
Newcastle are trying to get ahead of any further exits, with a bid now being submitted for Osasuna's Munoz, and negotiations ongoing behiind the scenes.
The Premier League is quickly getting to know the talented 22-year-old winger, who came through both Barcelona and Real Madrid's academies, before landing on his feet elsewhere in La Liga.
It does appear, though, that if he is to make the switch to England, it will be Howe's side that get him to sign across the dotted line, marking another incredible milestone in his early career.
Victor Munoz set to continue his rapid rise
The Spaniard, who has now made his debut for the senior national team, even scoring in the game, was actually let go by Barcelona at the age of 14.
He then joined Los Blancos, where, during the 2024-25 campaign, he was playing his football for Castilla, the club's second team, in the third division of Spanish football, notching 11 goals in 34 games.
While he did eventually make his debut for Real Madrid, the winger never looked like making it at the top level, but has most recently notched 12 goal contributions in a single season for Osasuna.
In just 12 months, Munoz has gone from the very depths of Spanish football to potentially being on the verge of joining a giant Premier League club on a big-money move.
Football can be a wonderful, magical sport, and this appears to just be the start of what could be an incredible career for the former Barcelona reject.
Real Madrid could still foil Newcastle United's plans
Although Real Madrid were happy to sell the player to Osasuna, the club took out insurances in case of an incredible rise to fame in La Liga.
That move certainly looks to have paid off, with 50 per cent sell-on and buy-back clauses being included in his contract, which could strike fear into the Magpies this summer.
Now that the presidential election has come to a conclusion at the Bernabeu, a decision is likely to be made on Real Madrid's next actions, which directly impact the Premier League side.
Whatever happens this summer, it has been an incredible rise for Munoz, and the footballing world need to know just how hard he has worked to get to this point in his career.
