Paul Robinson admits he would be devastated to see Harry Winks leave Tottenham after he was linked with moves to Manchester United and Manchester City.

The former Spurs and England goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, says that it is a testament to the 23-year-old's quality that other top clubs are looking at him.

The Athletic report that both Manchester clubs are eyeing up a move for the England midfielder after his fall down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho.

Robinson says he would hate to see Winks leave Spurs but admits a move to the north west could be tempting for the 23-year-old.

Robinson told Football Insider: "I'd really like him to stay, I'd be very, very disappointed if they were to lose Harry Winks but an opportunity to go to Manchester United or Manchester City, certainly would be an attractive one for a player of his quality.

"It just shows that people think the same way I do about Harry Winks, what a top player he is, that he's being linked with Manchester City.

"I think it would be difficult to sell him with Sissoko injured. I can't see that being a deal for January."

Winks has played 20 times for the Lilywhites this season but has just three Premier League starts since Jose Mourinho took charge of the club.

He has a total of 79 top-flight appearances and six England caps under his belt.
