Jim White has revealed that David Moyes has contacted former West Ham boss Slaven Bilic for advice about his new club.

On TalkSPORT's Alan Brazil's Sports Breakfast (Tuesday, 8:42), White revealed the news that might come as a shock to West Ham fans.

He said: “He’s counselled Slaven, so the two of them know each other very well indeed.

"Moyes has been in touch with Slaven, picking his brains on this, that and the next.

"So he is doing his homework is David Moyes and he is hellbent after the Sunderland experience of making West Ham work, and I hope he does it."

Moyes was appointed West Ham boss following the dismissal of Bilic after the Hammers suffered a 4-1 defeat against Liverpool.

Despite this stat, this season the Hammers found themselves 18th in the Premier League with only nine points from 11 games under Bilic's guidance.

Moyes is yet to take his first game in charge since being appointed, due to the international break. Moyes' first game will be against Watford at Vicarage Road on November 19.

The new manager has made several changes to the backroom staff since his arrival, hiring Stuart Pearce and Alan Irvine as assistant coaches.

Billy McKinlay is also expected to be confirmed as a member of Moyes' backroom staff in the next few days.
