Tony Cottee: This is where West Ham should be in the Premier League
By Laura O’Leary
Tony Cottee has revealed that he believes the current West Ham squad should be at least mid table and looking at getting into Europe.
The Hammers favourite was a guest on Jim White’s talkSPORT show (Monday 11:10) and criticised the squad for getting themselves in a relegation battle.
He said: “It’s not a squad of players who should be in the bottom three, they should be at least mid table, looking to get into Europe.”
Cottee played 279 games for the Hammers across two separate spells and scored 115 goals during his time with the club.
West Ham are currently 18th in the Premier League after 11 games played, and this led to the owners dismissing Slaven Bilic and hiring David Moyes as new manager.

The club have also shaken up the backroom staff under Moyes with Stuart Pearce and Alan Irvine joining the club.
A further addition is expected, with it being reported that Billy McKinlay is set to join Pearce and Irvine as new members of the staff in the next few days.
West Ham’s next game is against Watford at Vicarage Road on November 19 – the Hammers failed to beat Watford on both attempts last season.
However, the Hammers were reduced to ten men for the final minutes of last season’s 1-1 draw at Vicarage Road after Michail Antonio was sent off.
