Next Tottenham Manager: Odds-on favourite emerges after Mauricio Pochettino update

Mauricio Pochettino has emerged as the odds-on favourite to become the next Tottenham Hotspur manager.

The US National Team coach has been heavily linked with a return to the North London club at the end of the season once Igor Tudor’s contract expires.

Now, one bookmaker is increasingly confident that a deal will be struck, with Pochettino 4/5 to be in charge of Spurs for the first game of the 2026-27 campaign, with Oddschecker on 5 March confirming that these odds have been slashed.

It remains to be seen if the search for Tottenham’s new manager is affected by their division next campaign, with the club at serious risk of relegation to the Championship.

Will Mauricio Pochettino go to Tottenham if they are relegated?

According to The Express on 3 March, Pochettino remains open to going to Tottenham after the World Cup, even if they are relegated to the Championship.

This has become a serious risk in this campaign, with Spurs only one point above the drop zone after Thursday’s defeat against Crystal Palace.

With Liverpool up next, it’s hard to see where Igor Tudor is going to get his first victory, with there being few positive signs.

However, there still remains plenty of time in this campaign for Tottenham to turn it around and push back up the table.

Who else is linked with the Tottenham job?

While Football Insider has revealed that Pochettino is keen on taking the Spurs job, the club still have to look at alternative options.

Roberto De Zerbi remains the second favourite for the Tottenham job at 7/2 odds.

The former Brighton manager left his post at Marseille this campaign after failing to progress into the Champions League knockout stages, before being humbled against PSG.

Tudor remains a contender to get the job on a permanent basis on 7/1. It remains to be seen if the current interim manager can guide them to survival this season in what has been a catastrophic campaign to date.

Robbie Keane and Marco Rose remain outsiders at 12/1 and 14/1.

Keane has impressed abroad so far in his managerial career and has overseen a great Europa League campaign to date with Ferencvaros.

In comparison, Rose has been out of work since March 2025 after being dismissed by RB Leipzig due to their Bundesliga and Champions League underperformance.
