Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante believes that Celtic youngster Moussa Dembele has been one of the most prolific strikers in Europe this season.
Kante is regarded as one of the best talents in the Premier League and he has had his say on the highly rated 20-year-old.
He believes that Dembele should be considered among the best in Europe after his efforts this season, and has even tipped him for a senior call-up to the France squad.
France manager Didier Deschamps could include the Celtic ace in his squad ahead of two matches in March, meaning he could potentially line-up alongside Kante in the future.
Dembele has hit the ground running in Scotland following his summer arrival, scoring 29 goals in 42 appearances across all competitions.
Kante claims the attacker has been one of the most prolific in Europe this campaign and may be rewarded with a first senior international call-up.
“If Dembele is called up, it will be fully deserved,” Kante told the Scottish Sun. “You do not score the amount of goals that he has scored this season and it goes unnoticed.
“He has been one of the most prolific strikers in Europe this season. The coach picks on form. I don’t think the fact he isn’t playing for what people might consider one of the elite European clubs will be held against him.”
Dembele moved to Celtic Park from Championship side Fulham and has now had the chance to compete in the Champions League.
He scored a brace against Manchester City as the Scottish giants were eliminated in the group stages, but his reputation continues to grow rapidly.
The forward has thrived under the management of Brendan Rodgers and is in line for a domestic treble of trophies this season.
