'No brainer', 'Very Levy-esque' - Tottenham fans react to speculation Poch to sign 27-year-old for £25m
By Harry Sykes
Tottenham fans have mostly reacted with enthusiasm to speculation that Mauricio Pochettino will attempt to re-sign Gylfi Sigurdsson this summer.
The Mail Sigurdsson is “set for £25million Tottenham return” after Pochettino changed his mind over his summer transfer plans.
It is said that the Spurs manager is ready to turn his attention to re-signing Sigurdsson three years after selling him to Swansea.
The Mail report that the Argentine regards the Iceland international as a cheaper alternative to Everton playmaker Ross Barkley and is keen to press ahead with what would be a sensational move.
Spurs fans are enthused at the prospect of a fresh push to sign Sigurdsson, with one claiming it would be a classic move from chairman Daniel Levy in the transfer market.

Others said that the attacking midfielder would mainly be a bench player, as he was for some of his time during his first spell at White Hart Lane.

@RickSpur Always liked Siggy give Erikssen some competition especially dead ball where despite excellent in open play Christian’s been poor

@RickSpur I would happily have him back. Him and Eriksen lining up for free kicks..

@RickSpur He’s not gonna come to sit on the bench again. End of story…

@RickSpur A feint to the left before swerving to the right. Very Levy-esque.

Is the speculation that Spurs are after Siggy a Levy ploy. Eve want £50m so Spurs go for their replacement target to force the Barkley sale

Personally don’t think siggy is a player we need, would only be a bench player if we get him
— Jayy (@JamieDaavis) May 20, 2017
The only people that want Siggy back are people that fancy him. Yes, he’s disturbingly good looking but he’s not very good.
