Norwich want to sign Poland sensation Filip Luberecki, transfer price tag revealed amid contract situation

Norwich City and QPR are among several Championship sides eyeing moves for 21-year-old full-back Filip Luberecki this summer.

The defender has impressed with Motor Lublin and Poland’s Under-21 team, with the asking price set to come in at around £850,000 plus bonuses.

Luberecki will have one year remaining on his contract this summer, with potential suitors keen to take advantage of the reduced price.

The left-back has featured heavily in Poland’s top flight, Ekstraklasa, this season, making 31 appearances for Mateusz Stolarski’s side as they narrowly avoided relegation.

The 21-year-old will likely find himself in the Championship next season, with his signing a hot topic among a number of clubs.

Filip Luberecki on Norwich City’s radar

Football Insider exclusively revealed on Tuesday that Norwich are interested in Jay Smith-Sway, who made several appearances at right-back on loan at Hartlepool last season.

The Canaries are keen to act with intent in the transfer window, as they look to build off an ultimately positive Championship season.

Norwich had been fighting relegation at the start of the campaign, losing 11 of their opening 16 games before finally winning after Philippe Clement had been appointed.

The Belgian former Rangers manager signed a contract until 2029 and led his team on a stunning turnaround, ultimately guiding them to within just eight points of the play-offs.

Decision-makers at Carrow Road have already made several exciting signings, such as Mohamed Toure, and they are keen to build on that this summer.

Luberecki could well be among the first pieces of the puzzle, although the Canaries will have to fight off rival interest.

Luberecki sheds light on transfer offers

In an interview with Weszlo in 2025, Luberecki revealed that he has already received offers, with his sights beyond the Ekstraklasa.

“I’ve already had offers from abroad, and I know that the ceiling is higher than the Ekstraklasa,” he explained. “I want to see where that ceiling is now, reach the highest point possible.

“So that I don’t have to regret after my career that I could have done more, could have done something better. The worst thing in life is having a gift that goes to waste.”

Norwich could well provide the perfect springboard for those lofty heights, with there being plenty of ambition at Carrow Road.

In Clement, the young left-back would be joining a manager with a history of developing young players, in a squad full of them.

The talented Kellen Fisher finished the season for the Canaries at left-back, but the 22-year-old would be expected to return to his natural right-back position next season.
