Nottingham Forest: Evangelos Marinakis is ‘the master of chaos’ as Vitor Pereira decision made
Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis would be making the right call backing Vitor Pereira next season.
That is the view of former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking to Football Insider, as Nottingham Forest are expected to hand Pereira a new long-term contract.
Pereira was appointed in February on an 18th-month deal, and with the immediate objective of keeping the club in the Premier League, which he has achieved.
The 57-year-old has overseen just one league defeat in his last nine matches, and he led Nottingham Forest to the Europa League semi-finals.
Nottingham Forest had sacked three managers this season before Pereira was appointed, in what has been a turbulent campaign at the City Ground for the most part.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs- believes that Pereira deserves to remain Nottingham Forest manager next season.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness thinks that Marinakis is the only person at the club who can “upset the apple cart” in the future.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Yes, Pereira has deserved it [a new contract].
“It’s almost when there’s a bit of stability and quiet at Nottingham Forest, they start playing well again. And who is the master of the chaos? I wonder who that could be.
“But, yes, Pereira has done a good job. He’s got them playing well. They’ve played some good football. They’ve got some great results. And they almost got into a European final.
“So overall, Pereira does deserve it and that gives him a chance to have stability going into the off season if Marinakis can get this right with his director of football situation and have some stability, because he is the one that can upset the apple cart, not the manager.”
What are Nottingham Forest’s transfer plans?
Nottingham Forest could have a tough summer trying to keep hold of their star players as European football will not be on offer at the City Ground next season.
Elliot Anderson is expected to depart, whilst there will be interest in Murillo and Morgan Gibbs-White from rival clubs.
Sources have told Football Insider that Pereira will be handed a big budget by Nottingham Forest this summer to strengthen his squad as Marinakis prepares to show his ambition for the club once again.
Marinakis will be keen to replace any players who do depart, and he wants the club to be competing for Europe next season.
