Nottingham Forest identify perfect Ola Aina upgrade with Roland Sallai transfer eyed

Nottingham Forest are targeting Roland Sallai ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Reds are hoping to bring in the right-back who has been a star player for Galatasaray.

Vitor Pereira is looking to make upgrades to his squad this summer transfer window after the Tricky Trees confirmed their Premier League survival.

Now, this could happen at right-back with Sallai having plenty of superior stats to Forest’s current star right-back, Ola Aina.

The club may have to pay £21.62million for Sallai, according to Fotomac, but every sign points towards a potential bargain for Forest.

Roland Sallai could add extra attacking dimension to Nottingham Forest

Sallai no doubt had an excellent season with Galatasaray.

The right-back helped the Turkish club win the Super Liga, while they also reached the last 16 of the Champions League.

Sallai has far better attacking stats

According to Fotmob on 21 May, his attacking stats for a full-back are superb.

He is averaging 0.04 goals, a 0.14 xG, 1.49 shots, 0.11 xA, 0.11 assists and 0.84 chances created.

This is far better than the likes of Ola Aina, who has struggled to add an attacking threat to his game at the City Ground.

As a result, Pereira may have found the perfect upgrade for Nottingham Forest at right-back, with Sallai clearly able to add more on the pitch.

Hopefully, if he comes in, this will help push Forest further up the Premier League table and away from the relegation zone in the 2026-27 campaign.

Who else are Nottingham Forest linked to?

Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Forest are keeping tabs on Hayden Hackney ahead of the summer transfer window.

Departure from Middlesbrough is almost inevitable if the club fail to beat Hull City in the playoff final on Saturday and reach the Premier League.

Forest are not the only team interested in the midfielder, with Newcastle United recently joining the race for his signature.

On top of this, Brighton, Crystal Palace, and Everton are also in the race, as they all look to bring Hackney into their clubs.

However, it remains to be seen if Forest are able to bring Hackney into the club over the coming months as Pereira looks to make substantial upgrades to his squad in the transfer window.
