Nottingham Forest: Stats show why Vitor Pereira must make Dan Ndoye transfer U-turn
Nottingham Forest manager Vitor Pereira should be looking to offload Dan Ndoye at the earliest possible opportunity this summer rather than trusting him to turn his poor form around.
Ndoye has failed to live up to expectations at Nottingham Forest since a £34million move from Bologna last summer.
The Swiss international has only registered two Premier League goal contributions this season, and his last start in the top-flight came against Everton in mid-December.
Despite his struggles, Reds boss Pereira is not planning to let him leave this summer amid strong interest in his services from Roma.
Forest’s transfer plans are set to accelerate after their Premier League safety was confirmed, and they should definitely cut their losses on Ndoye after such a poor debut season.

Sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Forest do not want to sell Ndoye this summer, as they are hoping to see much more from him next season.
That is despite serious interest in the Switzerland international from Roma, with a “big offer” only likely to convince the Reds to sell in the coming months.

It is tough to understand why Forest hold such a viewpoint, considering Ndoye’s dismal performances since he arrived at the City Ground.
The right winger started strongly with a goal on his competitive debut against Brentford in August, but has not scored in the Premier League since, while his only assist for the club came a week later against Crystal Palace.
He is among the worst-performing attacking midfielders and wingers in the division for the majority of key statistics, particularly expected goals and assists, chances created and successful dribbles per 90 minutes.
Ndoye has also missed 10 games with three separate injuries this season, and has been sidelined for their last two matches too, after failing to appear off the bench in the previous two matches he was fit for.
It seems pretty obvious that Forest should let him leave, especially if a team like Roma, who are willing to pay sizeable fees for top targets, are interested.
Arnaud Kalimuendo has shown more promise than Ndoye this season
Kalimuendo was another of Forest’s flurry of signings last summer, as he arrived from Rennes for around £26m.
The French forward showed glimpses of his quality in the first half of the campaign, with a well-taken solo strike against Utrecht in the Europa League being a particular highlight.
Forest loaned Kalimuendo out to Eintracht Frankfurt in January, where he has registered six goals and one assist in 19 games while featuring on either flank and as a striker.
Kalimuendo is younger than Ndoye and has shown more promise this season, so it would make more sense to keep him around as a wing option and sell the Swiss international this summer.
