Ibrahim Sangare among three Nottingham Forest players whose stock has plunged this season
Oliver Glasner's start to life at Nottingham Forest is not as positive as many rival fans expected in 2026-27.
The Reds are sitting 13th in the Premier League table after five matches, with the 1-0 defeat to Coventry City still hanging over the City Ground.
No player is yet to score more than one goal, while Morgan Gibbs-White remains the team's most creative star, unsurprisingly.
Mick Brown told Football Insider that Glasner's position as Forest boss is not 100 per cent safe, with Evangelos Marinakis often quick on the trigger.
The former Crystal Palace manager should be given a chance to turn things around, but there are several issues to address over the coming months.
With all of this taken into account, Football Insider has reviewed the players who have suffered especially in the early stages of the season.
Ibrahim Sangare
Last season, when he was fully fit, Ibrahim Sangare was one of the most consistent defensive midfielders in the Premier League, prompting interest from several clubs.
He stayed at the City Ground, but now, the 28-year-old might be regretting his choice, struggling to break back into the lineup, thanks to James McAtee and Xaver Schlager.
Matz Sels
Goalkeeper Matz Sels won the 2024-25 Golden Glove, but supporters are now wishing that Forest had replaced him during the summer window.
The 34-year-old is far from his best, keeping just one clean sheet in five league matches. However, Steven Benda and John Victor are awful replacements.
He recently grabbed two assists against Scotland on Tuesday, 29 September, but his inconsistencies have seen his value tank in this market.
