Nottingham Forest fans are rapidly losing faith in the ability of star centre-back Murillo after their 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday.

The Brazilian has starred for the Reds since arriving from Corinthians back in 2023, and has often been linked with moves to some of the Premier League's top clubs.

Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea have all pursued deals for the 24-year-old at times in recent years, but that feels a world away for him right now.

Murillo is currently part of a Forest side that are desperately struggling to find form under Oliver Glasner, and his performances are now facing criticism from the fans.

Reds supporters have become accustomed to Murillo and Nikola Milenkovic forming an imposing partnership at the heart of the defence, but that hasn't been the case of late.

Like many of his teammates, Murillo is struggling to find consistency at the moment, and that hasn't gone unnoticed among the supporters.

Nottingham Forest fans question Murillo 'downfall'

Forest squandered an early lead to fall to defeat away at Palace, as the Reds' defensive issues were laid bare once again.

They have managed just one clean sheet from their opening seven games in all competitions this term, and Murillo has played a key role in that backline.

Fans are now beginning to lose patience with the highly-rated star, who many feel has not been hitting the necessary performance levels

One Forest fan took to X to point out that he has "never seen a downfall" like it, while another questioned whether the defender "has had his head turned."

Another fan suggested that Murillo will end up back in Brazil eventually, while it was also pointed out that Forest need more cover for him in the left centre-back role.

It was even suggested that Murillo is more concerned about his social media image than he is his performances.

Sources: Man United told Nottingham Forest could accept 'huge' Murillo offer

Forest ready to accept 'huge' Murillo offer

Football Insider revealed at the start of October that it will still take a "huge" offer for Forest to let Murillo leave the club.

Manchester United are understood to be ready to prioritise a move for him this winter, but Forest have no desire to sell in the middle of the campaign.

The Brazilian is under contract at the City Ground until the summer of 2030, and Glasner's side are under no pressure when it comes to how they handle his future.

Fans may be frustrated by his current displays, but there is little sign of Murillo leaving Forest any time soon.
