Robert Sanchez has sent a message to Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White on social media after the pair collided on Monday.

Vitor Pereira's side beat Chelsea 3-1 at Stamford Bridge, with Taiwo Awoniyi's brace and Igor Jesus' penalty earning a huge three points for the visitors.

Joao Pedro scored a wonderful overhead kick in stoppage time, but it would ultimately prove to be a consolation.

Gibbs-White and Sanchez were both forced off in the second half after colliding when the midfielder had attempted to get on the end of a long ball.

Nottingham Forest's three points have left them ever closer to confirming their place in the Premier League next season.

Pereira has confirmed that Gibbs-White has a deep cut after the Chelsea game, with the midfielder involved in a nasty collision with Sanchez.

The Englishman had only come on at half-time, but had already made a telling contribution by breaking beyond the back-line and passing the ball square for Awoniyi's second.

The 26-year-old has been in brilliant form over the last few months, and his instant impact only emphasised that form.

But just 14 minutes later, both Gibbs-White and Sanchez were being walked off the pitch with bandages around their heads after a nasty clash.

The Nottingham Forest man took to his Instagram story after the game and shared a picture of a gnarly cut across his face that had been stitched up.

The Chelsea goalkeeper soon responded on his own story and posted a picture of his own wound from the clash.

"Seen that you came out worst than me," he wrote to Gibbs-White. "Hope you are ok big man".

Nottingham Forest face nervous Gibbs-White wait

Pereira and Nottingham Forest face a nervous wait ahead of Thursday's crucial Europa League semi-final second leg against Aston Villa.

The Portuguese manager has already confirmed that Gibbs-White is in contention for the match after avoiding a concussion, but he will be assessed ahead of the game.

The midfielder is key to the Nottingham Forest attack, and will be a difference-maker if he can pass a late fitness test.

Pereira's side go into the game needing a draw or a win to progress to the Europa League final, after they beat Villa 1-0 at the City Ground last week.
