Callum Hudson-Odoi simply has to return to Nottingham Forest’s starting XI for their upcoming match against Tottenham Hotspur given his recent performances against the club.

The winger is yet to start a match for the Tricky Trees this season, with Oliver Glasner choosing to use him as an impact substitute.

However, this has not really worked in Forest’s favour, with the club yet to win a game this campaign.

On top of this, they have only scored twice in three matches in all competitions, with the one goal being a penalty.

Therefore, their match against an equally struggling Spurs side is a big opportunity for Forest to get their first win on the board.

Given that Hudson-Odoi was unplayable in their last meeting against Tottenham, Glasner must consider returning him to the lineup for Saturday’s game.

Callum Hudson-Odoi dominated vs Tottenham

In Forest’s last meeting against Tottenham, it was no doubt a memorable day.

The visitors went to North London and won 3-0 to massively boost their survival hopes.

On the day, Hudson-Odoi was one of the best players on the pitch, and this is shown in his stats.

According to Fotmob, the winger completed 91 per cent of his passes, created two chances and one big chance, claimed one assist, had a 0.37 xA and made four line-breaking passes.

Therefore, with Forest not scoring too often at the minute, it is a simple decision to bring Hudson-Odoi back into the starting XI against a team he knows how to perform against.

Tottenham clash is a massive game for Oliver Glasner

So far, Glasner has not set the world alight at Forest.

The club has already been knocked out of the Carabao Cup, and did not perform exactly well in either of the matches against Leeds United.

While there were good signs against Liverpool, that has to be followed up with a win against Spurs in front of the home fans.

A victory would do wonders for Glasner and help the club gather some momentum ahead of the final fixtures before the international break.

However, if he is unable to achieve this, questions will be asked about his suitability in the role, especially if a victory is not achieved by the three-week break later this month.
