Nottingham Forest and Man United managers in three-way race to be first sacked - expert
Fulham manager Alvaro Arbeloa is likely to be the Premier League's first sacking, ahead of Nottingham Forest boss Oliver Glasner.
That is according to former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who believes that the "clock is ticking" on several Premier League bosses already this season.
Glasner is under pressure after Forest's 3-1 defeat away at Crystal Palace, while Arbeloa's Fulham side are still waiting for their first league win of the season.
Wyness believes that Manchester United chief Michael Carrick is also a candidate to become the first to be sacked, but Arbeloa is the prime candidate at the moment.
The trio of clubs have all had difficult starts to the new campaign, and are all sitting in the bottom half of the table.
Forest are yet to win or even score a goal on home turf, but Wyness believes that Glasner's time isn't up just yet.
Oliver Glasner's situation one to 'watch'
Everton’s former chief Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that Glasner's situation at Forest is one to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.
The Scottish businessman is adamant that the Austrian, alongside Arbeloa and Carrick, are the three top candidates to lose their jobs right now.
Spekaing on the latest edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, Wyness explained why they are the three to "watch" at the moment.
"Yeah, the clock's ticking (on Glasner)," he said.
"I thought he'd be going right the way through to next summer and then they'd reappraise the season. But the way things are happening, yeah, it's a problem.
"It's not as bad as Fulham, though. I think Arbeloa will probably be the first one to go.
"And then you've got Michael Carrick and Glasner. They're all on the watch right now. It's amazing. So let's just see."
'Evangelos Marinakis is not happy'
Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on Monday that Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis is "not happy" with just performances, and demands result as well.
The ex-recruitment man does not believe that the Reds' strong displays will provide any consolation for their poor start.
Brown noted the fact that Marinakis is often "trigger happy" when it comes to sacking managers, and feels there is "every chance" that Glasner is axed if results don't improve.
Marinakis can often be volatile with his views towards the club's managers, and Brown does not believe that Glasner's position is "safe" by any means.
