Nottingham Forest could well replace Neco Williams after '£12m+' update - view
Neco Williams could be watching over his shoulder carefully as the January transfer window approaches at Nottingham Forest.
The 25-year-old was crowed as the club's Player of the Season in 2025-26, capping off some brilliant defensive displays with six goal contributions.
Very few have brought to the pitch what the Welshman has since his arrival from Liverpool in the summer of 2022, but that could be about to change.
Oliver Glasner has brought with him a new playing style to the City Ground, which has forced Williams up the pitch and out of his comfort zone.
Given that he's also right-footed, players in the Premier League are able to predict his usual cut-in off the left, stopping him from being as creative.
Despite his lack of output in the final third, Glasner has persisted with him at left-wing-back, and will likely continue to until he can find a replacement.
Fenerbahce want £25m for Neco Williams' replacement
Luckily for the new manager, the January transfer will come around much sooner than many expect, and plans are already being forged.
According to reports in Turkey, Forest have retained an interest in Fenerbahce star Archie Brown, who has long been linked with a return to England.
The 24-year-old already has two goals and one assist in his first 10 games of the season, scoring against Roma and Lyon in the Champions League.
Not only is Brown a natural left-sided player, but he also loves getting forward and has been known to play as a left-midfielder as part of a back-five.
It is understood that the Reds are preparing a €15million (£12.7m) offer ahead of the January window, but the Turkish giants want closer to €30m (£25.5m).
What has Archie Brown said about an England return?
Brown began his career in the Derby County academy, eventually switching to life in Switzerland with Lausanne, and then Gent in Belgium.
Now, he is lighting up Europe with Fenerbahce, and catching plenty of attention from numerous giants in the footballing world.
He has already spoken to Sky Sports about his future aspirations, having been quizzed about a return to England and primarily the Premier League.
Brown said: "It might take me back to England and the Premier League, but it may take me somewhere in Europe. My aspiration is to play at the highest level possible, to play in the Champions League and compete for league titles."
