Nottingham Forest have reportedly opened talks to sign Corinthians starlet Andre as Oliver Glasner aims to bolster his midfield ranks.

The Reds' transfer business is set to explode into life over the next week as several incomings and outgoings are completed in the East Midlands.

Oliver Glasner's side suffered a tough start to the new Premier League season as they slipped to a 1-0 home defeat to Leeds on Saturday.

He has only completed three senior signings so far this summer, with Xaver Schlager, Steven Benda and Ousmane Diomande arriving at the City Ground.

The Mail have now claimed that Forest are in talks with Corinthians over a deal to sign highly-rated young midfielder Andre.

They have had some recent success with recruitment in Brazil, signing the likes of Murillo, Igor Jesus and Jair Cunha from their top flight.

Nottingham Forest looking to complete cut-price Andre move

The report from Tuesday afternoon states that Forest are in talks with the Serie A side about completing a £13.6million for 20-year-old Andre.

AC Milan tried to sign him in January, but he wanted to see out the season with Corinthians, while Crystal Palace have also been watching him throughout this summer.

Andre only made his professional debut for his boyhood club in August 2025, but has quickly established himself as one of the best young talents in Brazil.

He featured 12 times in the 2025 campaign, and has registered seven goal contributions in 34 appearances so far this season, but is currently sidelined with a thigh injury.

Corinthians supporters have nicknamed him "Pogba da Fiel" (Pogba of the Faithful) due to his similar profile and play-style to the ex-Man United midfielder.

Memphis Depay has offered high praise of Andre on social media

Forest are clearly looking to sign at least one new midfielder, after sources exclusively revealed to Football Insider that they were looking to move ahead of Palace in the race to sign AC Milan star Youssouf Fofana.

Andre has now emerged as a leading target to add depth to Glasner's options in the middle of the park, and Reds fans should be encouraged by Depay's thoughts on his quality.

The Netherlands star has played with Andre at Corinthians since he broke into the first team, and took it upon himself to reply to transfer rumours about the 20-year-old in March.

Depay replied to a Fabrizio Romano post on X that linked Andre to Milan by saying: "Andre is one of the biggest talents I have seen so far in my career...many clubs will come for our young star. I hope we don’t rush him (out) for the quick money. He’s a big bank player, honestly."
