He registered five goal contributions in 47 appearances across all competitions last season, as they reached the quarter-finals of the Conference League.
Sources exclusively revealed to Football Insider earlier in the window that Forest were interested in Dodo as Glasner aims to bolster his defensive options.
Aina is the only fit, natural right-back on their books as it stands, with the injured Nicolo Savona unlikely to fit into Glasner's system for the season ahead.
The Reds seem keen to clinch a move for Dodo before next Tuesday's deadline, but will reportedly have to offer closer to £8.5m to get a deal done.

Dodo has less than one year left on his contract at Fiorentina and is believed to be keen to explore a new challenge after four years in Italy.
He is yet to win a senior call-up to the Brazil national team, so a move to the Premier League may well appeal if he harbours international ambitions.
Dodo has not signed a new Fiorentina contract and refused to commit his future to the club in May, saying: "It’s hard to say (if I will stay at the club). Let’s see what happens. I haven’t met with anyone from the club yet to discuss it, and I hope to do so, but I’m leaving it all in my agent’s hands.”
