Oliver Glasner could be about to suffer 'Sean Dyche's fate' at Nottingham Forest
Oliver Glasner could be set to suffer the same fate as Sean Dyche as the threat of the sack continues to loom at Nottingham Forest.
The new boss has now won just one of his first six Premier League games, and a 3-1 defeat against his former club Crystal Palace has led to questions about his position.
One glaring issue in this team has been their lack of goal threat, as they remain the only team not to have scored at home, and have failed to score in four of seven games this season.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Glasner's situation reminds him of the position Sean Dyche was in before he was sacked by Nottingham Forest.
Dyche's side saw the goals dry up despite showing no lack of creativity, as his final game against Wolves saw them record 35 shots on goal with 16 on target in a 0-0 draw.
Following the defeat against Crystal Palace at the weekend, where Glasner's side created plenty of chances but were wasteful in front of goal, he may suffer the same fate.
Why was Sean Dyche sacked by Nottingham Forest?
Brown told Football Insider back in January that Nottingham Forest were considering Dyche's future after a poor run of form and a lack of goalscoring threat.
Now, with Glasner having won just one of his first six Premier League games and with his side struggling in front of goal, those comparisons will be drawn.
Evangelos Marinakis is notorious for losing patience with his managers, having been through five in the last 12 months, and Glasner is the latest at risk at the City Ground.
"The lack of goals is going to be a real problem for Oliver Glasner and Nottingham Forest," Brown told Football Insider.
"It's easy to say they're creating chances so they have to take them in the end, and it's hard to blame the manager when his players aren't putting the ball in the net.
"But it reminds me a lot of what happened with Sean Dyche, because he was sacked by Forest after the goals dried up.
"I remember his team had over 30 shots on goal in one game but they couldn't score, and of course that was the manager's fault, so he was sacked not long after.
"So there's already precedent for it at Nottingham Forest, and if Glasner is going to have the same issues in terms of scoring goals, he may well be set to suffer the same fate."
Could Oliver Glasner suffer the same fate as Dyche?
Speculation about Glasner's long-term future at the City Ground comes after what has been a slow start to his time as manager, despite high hopes before the season began.
As well as taking just one win from his first six Premier League games, his side were also knocked out of the League Cup by Leeds, piling the pressure on his position.
Brown told Football Insider on 12 October that Glasner is now at risk of being sacked, and while a decision may not be imminent, results must improve quickly.
Marinakis is notoriously trigger-happy, with Forest having been through five managers in the last 12 months, and he is determined to see an upturn in results.
Despite a promising performance, the defeat against Crystal Palace has heightened the pressure on Glasner's position as Forest manager, and could lead to his dismissal.
