Oliver Glasner sack odds slashed after Nottingham Forest latest

Oliver Glasner's job at Nottingham Forest may not be entirely secure after failure to beat Premier League strugglers Coventry City.

Forest had a chance to be sitting in the top half of the Premier League table heading into the September international break.

Instead, Glasner's side are 13th after five games, winning just one of them against Aston Villa, while also slipping up to the Sky Blues.

Jay Dasilva scored the only goal at the City Ground on Saturday, 19 September, sending the away end into absolute pandemonium.

Before their trip across the Midlands, Frank Lampard's side had failed to score a goal, let alone win a point during the 2026-27 Premier League campaign.

That all changed, though, which will have certainly taken some of the pressure off Lampard, and potentially onto Glasner instead.

Glasner has won just 17 per cent of his matches in charge of the Reds so far, but before the weekend's fixtures, his departure was not even a talking point.

However, supporters are very aware of Evangelos Marinakis' cut-throat nature, especially when his team are embarrassed on and off the pitch.

Before facing Coventry, one major bookmaker had Glasner priced at 16/1 to be the next Premier League manager sacked, with Lampard at 3/1.

Now, the Sky Blues' boss has increased his chances of staying, being priced at 8/1, while the Forest manager has dropped to 12/1 following the clash at the City Ground.

Given how much Glasner was backed in the summer, it would be a strange decision from the owner, but it simply cannot be totally ruled out.

Understandably, the home supporters were far from impressed with the performance at the City Ground, registering just three shots on target.

Speaking after full-time, Glasner said: "Everybody could see the effort was there. Now it's time to support the players and get this weight off their shoulders.

"Maybe this international break comes in the right moment," although, Forest fans will be hoping that Morgan Gibbs-White's England call-up doesn't end in injury.

Forest's next game is against Crystal Palace on Sunday, 11 October, with both clubs coming to despise each other over recent events off the field.

He must claim victory over his old team, or there may be calls from the stands for his sacking as well.
