Premier League sack race: Frank Lampard odds slashed after latest
Frank Lampard has suddenly emerged as the favourite to be sacked next in the Premier League after a difficult start to the season at Coventry City.
The Sky Blues sit bottom of the Premier League after four matches, losing all four fixtures, being the only team in the division to do so.
Coventry are also yet to score a single goal in the top-flight, and have conceded 10 times in these four matches.
Now, one UK bookmaker has slashed the odds on Lampard to be the next manager to leave in the Premier League to 3/1.
This has made him the joint-favourite to leave next, alongside Fulham’s Alvaro Arbelo.
Lampard had got Coventry promoted to the Premier League last season as the club won the Championship title comfortably.
Time is running out for Frank Lampard at Coventry
Despite a tricky fixture list at the West Midlands club, Lampard is no doubt on thin ice already.
Coventry have been awful in all of their games, and are deservedly bottom of the Premier League.
While it is unknown how much time Lampard will be given to turn things around, it is hard to imagine that the owners will stick by him if a victory in the division is not achieved by November.
As a result, their home ties against Newcastle United, Fulham and Sunderland could be crucial after the international break if they want to pull themselves out of the relegation zone.
However, it remains to be seen if Lampard has the ability to turn their form around in the coming weeks.

After Lampard and Arbelo, Pierre Sage is the next favourite to be sacked at 5/1.
Crystal Palace have also had a tough start to their Premier League campaign, with the club losing three of their first four fixtures.
Roberto De Zerbi is next, also at 5/1, with Tottenham Hotspur without a win or a goal in the Premier League in the 2026-27 campaign.
Michael Carrick is also a potential outsider to be sacked next at 7/1, with Manchester United having an unimaginative start to the season.
However, it remains to be seen who will be the first manager to leave a Premier League club this season.
