Nottingham Forest have no plans to sack Oliver Glasner in the immediate future despite a slow start, sources have told Football Insider.

The Tricky Trees have won just one of their opening six Premier League games, and were dumped out of the League Cup by Leeds, leading to questions being asked.

Following a 3-1 defeat against Crystal Palace last time out, pressure on the manager's position has grown, with some fans now beginning to grow impatient.

However, as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Nottingham Forest's performance against Palace has given the board some confidence.

There is a feeling that their performances have not been reflected in their results so far, and while those results must improve quickly, there is optimism for improvement.

Displays against Palace, Liverpool and Aston Villa have shown that positive results could be on the horizon, and the board will not rush into a decision on Glasner's future as a result.

Why is Oliver Glasner under pressure?

Former Man United coach Mick Brown told Football Insider on 12 October that Glasner is coming under increasing pressure with Nottingham Forest starting to lose patience.

Evangelos Marinakis is notoriously trigger-happy with his managers, and after a slow start to the season, it would not come as a major shock to see another change.

However, there is optimism behind the scecnes at the City Ground that results will improve soon, as they have seen positive signs from their performances so far.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "It's obviously been a slow start for Glasner at Forest, but you’ve got to remember that he's coming in and trying to implement a new style of play.

"Plus, there has been some encouraging signs as well that impressive win at Aston Villa, they got a good draw at Liverpool as well and the performance against Palace wasn't bad.

"Five points from the opening six games is less than what they expected, but I don't think there's any panic at Forest right now, not just yet.

"There is a sense within Forest that he will need time to get things right, and obviously he's a manager with good experience. I don't think there'll be any panic from him either over that slow start."

Nottingham Forest have 'huge' Liam Delap concern

Who is to blame for Nottingham Forest's slow start?

Despite fingers being pointed at Glasner as the reason for Nottingham Forest's slow start to the season, there are ongoing issues on the pitch which have contributed.

Forest have struggled to score goals, and that was evidenced again when they lost to Crystal Palace, after they creasted a number of big chances but found the net just once.

Brown told Football Insider following the game that Liam Delap's displays are becoming a major worry at the City Ground amid fears he is not capable of leading the line.

The 23-year-old has scored one goal in five Premier League appearances so far, and missed a huge chance to put his side 2-0 up at Selhurst Park.

The City Ground club have failed to score in four of their seven games in all competitions this season, and should their difficulties in front of goal continue, they will struggle to pick up wins.
