Arnaud Kalimuendo could soon complete a permanent move to Eintracht Frankfurt as the German club develops a plan to sign the Nottingham Forest outcast.

The 24-year-old was loaned out to the Bundesliga outfit in the winter window after failing to impress at the City Ground, and they are now in talks over a potential transfer.

Despite not scoring a single Premier League goal for Forest since his summer move, he rekindled his form at Frankfurt as he netted six times in 19 matches.

Reports have now emerged that the German side are now planning on selling two players this summer in hopes of affording Forest’s £17.3million asking price.

The Tricky Trees are happy to see the striker depart after failing to impress early in the 2025-26 campaign.

Forest previously signed Kalimuendo for £26m from Rennes in August.

Frankfurt currently cannot afford to sign Arnaud Kalimuendo

Despite Kalimuendo’s form at Frankfurt, the club were unable to secure European football as they finished eighth in the Bundesliga.

According to BILD on 7 June, the club cannot afford to pay Forest’s £17.3m asking price, and it is currently unclear if they will reduce it.

As a result, Frankfurt are looking to depart with both Elye Wahi and Noel Futkeu in hopes of affording the Forest outcast this summer.

The German club are hoping to get £17.3m for Wahi, while Futkeu is priced at £8.65m.

However, it remains to be seen if the club are able to sell these players in order to bring Kalimuendo into the club this summer.

Who else could Nottingham Forest sell this summer transfer window?

Former Manchester City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider that Forest may not have a choice but to sell Elliot Anderson to Manchester City this summer.

Borson believes that the enormous profit will be too hard for the Tricky Trees to turn down this summer.

Nottingham Forest: Stats reveal if Arnaud Kalimuendo is ready to make a Premier League impact

The Citizens have already seen an opening offer for the 23-year-old turned down, with the player understandably focusing on the 2026 World Cup, his first major tournament with the Three Lions.

Figures have ranged anywhere between £80million and £120million for the England international's signature, but Borson can't see a deal for much over £70million as a base fee.
