Marshall Munetsi’s stats show Nottingham Forest can land themselves Premier League hit
Nottingham Forest are chasing a deal for Wolves outcast Marshall Munetsi this summer, who Vitor Pereira is clearly fond of.
The Tricky Trees are believed to have added the midfielder to their list of targets, and discussions have begun with his representatives as his loan spell at Paris FC comes to an end.
The 29-year-old was once signed by Pereira at the Old Gold side, and was a regular in the first-team until his sacking early this season.
Munetsi’s inconsistent displays eventually saw him dropped and sent out on loan in the last winter window. This was despite Pereira making him a key component of their Premier League survival in the 2024-25 campaign.
Reports suggest that Forest will have to pay just under £13million to get hold of the Zimbabwe international this summer.
Paris FC did have the chance to buy the midfielder, but deemed the overall package too expensive for the Ligue 1 club.
Vitor Pereira once established Marshall Munetsi as a key Wolves asset
Nottingham Forest face a battle for Munetsi's signature, with Saudi and Qatari clubs also making enquiries.
However, Forest’s advantage in the race may lie with Munesti’s relationship with Pereira, with the manager clearly holding the star in high regard.
Jeunesfooteux on 8 June made it clear that Forest are keen on Munesti, and the manager will be hoping to win the race for the midfielder.
Upon bringing him back to Molineux in 2025, the midfielder played a highly important role and boasted some great stats in the Premier League during the 2024-25 campaign.
According to Fotmob on 9 June, he was averaging 0.17 goals, a 0.27 xG, a 30 per cent cross success rate, 5.51 ground duels won, 2.42 aerial duels won, 2.00 tackles and 0.33 clean sheets.
If this form can be rekindled in the Premier League at the City Ground, he could prove to be an excellent asset for Forest next season.
Who else are Nottingham Forest chasing?
Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Nottingham Forest are ready to reignite their interest in Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta this summer.
The Crystal Palace striker is out of contract in 2027, and the club are happy to cash in on him.
A price tag of £25m has been set for the France international, with Forest now looking for win the race to his signature.
The 28-year-old is attracting interest from several clubs across Europe, with teams preparing to swoop in knowing that Palace don't want to lose him on a free.
