Nottingham Forest odds-on favourites to complete Lucas Bergvall deal
Nottingham Forest have emerged as odds-on favourites to secure the signing of Tottenham Hotspur’s rising star Lucas Bergvall this summer transfer window.
The Tricky Trees have been linked to the 20-year-old central midfielder in recent weeks after he asked to leave Spurs last month.
The Sweden international is seen as one of the North London club’s best talents, and he won the Supporters’ Player of the Season Award for the 2024-25 campaign.
Now, one UK bookmaker believes that Forest are the most likely to win the race for Bergvall, and have reduced the odds of the club signing the star down to 17/20.
The youngster struggled with an ankle sprain for a good portion of the 2025-26 campaign, but still managed to make 33 appearances in all competitions for Spurs.
Bergvall also featured in the 2026 World Cup with Sweden as they reached the round of 32.
How good is Lucas Bergvall?
Despite a tricky 2025-26 campaign, Bergvall is clearly a talent at Spurs.
During the 2026 World Cup, his talent was clear to see on the pitch as he picked up one assist in the four appearances he made for Sweden.
According to Fotmob on 13 July, he averaged 0.51 assists, 1.01 successful dribbles, 2.02 touches in the opposition box, 1.52 tackles and 5.56 recoveries per 90 minutes at the tournament.
As a result, it is of little surprise that many clubs are chasing his signature, including Nottingham Forest.
Now, Oliver Glasner will be hopeful of winning the race for the central midfielder over the coming months.
How else is Bergvall linked with?
Despite Forest being the clear frontrunners with the bookies, many clubs are yet to be ruled out of the race.
Bayern Munich are priced at 4/1 to secure his signature, while Manchester United’s odds are at 5/1.
Chelsea and Aston Villa are also both considered to be outsiders at 8/1 this summer.
A stay at Tottenham is also seen as likely at 6/4, with the club unlikely to be keen to sell their rising star.
Nevertheless, it remains to be seen where Bergvall will be playing his football during the 2026-27 campaign as Forest eye a summer swoop.
