Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez would be open to the idea of a move to Nottingham Forest, sources have told Football Insider.

The Reds are in the market for a new goalkeeper ahead of Tuesday's 11pm deadline, and Sanchez has been made available by Chelsea.

Forest are understood to be assessing a number of potential options to take the number one spot, with Crystal Palace not entertaining any offers for Dean Henderson.

Sanchez is firmly out of favour at Stamford Bridge after Emiliano Martinez's arrival, and is not content with serving as second or even third choice.

A last-minute move could be on the cards for the 28-year-old as a result, with Forest weighing up whether to make a push for him.

The former Brighton man made 35 appearances in the Premier League last term, and notched nine clean sheets for the Blues.

Nottingham Forest have not been in the market for a new goalkeeper for large parts of the summer, but it has become a top priority for them in the final days of the window.

Oliver Glasner is looking to strengthen in that department before the window closes, and he and the recruitment team are considering a number of options.

Henderson has emerged as their clear preference, but it has quickly become clear that Palace will not allow him to leave at this stage of the window.

There is a limited number of shot-stoppers available on the market at the moment, which is set to make it difficult for the East Midlands outfit to get a deal done.

However, with Sanchez left out of Chelsea's win over Brighton on Sunday, the door could be open for him to depart West London.
