Morgan Gibbs-White's future is often a talking point at Nottingham Forest in transfer windows, and his change of agents has sparked a new rumour.

The 26-year-old has come close to moves to both Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur in recent seasons, but he remains a key figure along the River Trent.

In 2025-26, he ended the campaign with 18 goals and seven assists, helping to lead Forest to a Europa League semi-final.

Despite only signing a new contract in July 2025, the interest in the playmaker's signature remains, and Vincent Kompany is one keeping a close eye, it would appear.

Bayern Munich are well-known for signing players before they make it big, often doing so during their time at the Allianz Arena.

Jamal Musiala would certainly fit that description, and while Michael Olise was starring in the Premier League, he wasn't labelled "world class" until his move to the Bundesliga.

Nottingham Forest to have eyes on Michael Olise

It is Olise's future with the German giants that could cause a huge blow to emerge back at the City Ground, though it is unlikely at this stage.

Real Madrid are hugely interested in the 24-year-old Frenchman, who grabbed seven assists at the 2026 World Cup this summer.

And according to the Daily Mail, if Jose Mourinho's side manage to seal the playmaker's signature, Gibbs-White would be a strong candidate to replace him.

The England international's switch to the ROOF agency has sparked some of that; Leon Goretzka, Serge Gnabry and Konrad Laimer all with the same agency.

Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal are also said to be eyeing a move for the 26-year-old, but that would be a huge decision at this stage in his career.

What do we know about Morgan Gibbs-White's contract situation?

Gibbs-White's latest contract means that he is set to stay at the City Ground until the summer of 2028, committing his future to the club.

He is believed to be on a base salary of £110,000-a-week, but with bonuses, closer to £140,000-a-week, expected to be Forest's highest paid player.

That is hardly surprising, given his performances over the last few seasons.

If Bayern are to acquire the player's signature this summer, it would take a huge transfer fee, possibly nearing the one that Man City paid for Elliot Anderson.
