Kevin Campbell claimed Everton are capable of pulling off the landmark January signing of Real Madrid star Isco – thanks to the Carlo Ancelotti factor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, the former Goodison Park striker claims the Merseysiders’ ability to attract talent has been transformed by their manager.
The Daily Mirror claim Isco is keen to leave the Bernabeu and reunite with former Real Madrid colleagues Carlo Ancelotti and James Rodriguez.
The Spain international has fallen out of favour under Zinedine Zidane and it is reported that the La Liga giants would be open to letting Isco leave on a loan-to-buy deal that becomes permanent next summer for £18million plus add-ons.
Campbell suggested that the influence of Ancelotti could lure the four-time Champions League winner to Goodison Park.
He told Football Insider: ““The different calibre of signings is down to the Ancelotti factor. 100 per cent.
“We have seen previous managers sign players that are nowhere near this level. When Carlo Ancelotti knocks on your door, you follow.
“A lot of the players he has signed already know him. They know that he is a winner. I am sure that he chats with these players and tells them that they could be a key part of what he is building. That is what players want to hear.
“I have watched Isco a lot, a fantastic player who Chelsea coveted last season.
“He is not playing much at Real Madrid and he had a bit of a spat with Zidane in the press.
“He does not feel like he is getting a fair crack of the whip. If Everton could get a multiple Champions League winner in – now we are talking.”
